Today’s theme is the Series Finale!
It’s a bittersweet day for us at camp. This past week has been so much fun it’s hard to believe it is coming to an end, and what’s even harder to believe is that resident camp is coming to an end as well! We have learned so many things, we have made so many new friends, we’ve made new memories, and we’ve strengthened old friendships. Even though this is everybody’s last day campers and staff have already made it an especially great one!
We have been so fortunate to have another sunny day here at Camp Jorn which means lots of dry wood for the Friendship Fire!! Additionally, it meant an amazing last day of classes. Crafts modge-podged glass bottles with tissue paper, horsemanship played tag on horseback, and water-skiing was hard at work doing doubles, triples, even quadruples!
This afternoon we packed to leave tomorrow and collected wood for our Friendship Fire tonight! We also had a camp-wide block party during 3rd cabin activity. We busted out the giant tarp for a giant slip ‘n’ slide, the music was bumpin’, and the Popsicles were passed around! It was a great afternoon.
Finally, tonight is our last campfire of the summer so to commemorate all the fun times, fun people, and great experiences we had this past week as well as the entire summer we will be having a Friendship Fire. This consists of two parts, the first being a reflection in the amphitheater with all the cabins and staff. The second part is a giant bonfire under the stars in the middle of the field. This is a very special experience for campers and staff alike.
In the morning we will have some yummy homemade doughnuts and then be on our way home!
Hope everybody had a great day, we look forward to seeing you all tomorrow!
